During the European Union (EU) Structural Funds 2021–2027 programming period, the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) continues to provide aid to Latvian small and medium-sized enterprises for innovative business development. 

One of the aid directions under the Innovative Business Development Programme for SMEs will be the Sub-programme of the Export Aid Action Plan. Within the scope thereof, via various activities, the exportability of Latvian small and medium-sized enterprises operating in the medium-high, high-tech and knowledge-intensive service sectors will be promoted.

Beneficiaries

• Merchants eligible to receive the aid according to the quality criteria (have scored at least 9 points). Check in the Self-Check Calculator
• Associations of at least five merchants
• Foundations, where the founders and members include at least five merchants
• Cooperative societies of at least three merchants (shall not apply to flat owner cooperative societies, car garage owner cooperative societies, boat garage owner cooperative societies and horticultural cooperative societies)
• Farms or fisheries eligible to receive the aid according to the quality criteria (have scored at least 9 points)
• Start-ups or merchants receiving aid within the European-level projects. Read more in the explanation.

(!) All beneficiaries 

• must correspond to the status of micro, small and medium-sized entities engaged in economic activity (commercial enterprises) in accordance with Annex 1 to Commission Regulation (EU) No. 651/2014 of 17 June 2014 More information in the section Useful links
• have no tax debts
• have concluded at least one financial year, as the aid amount is set at a maximum of 30% of the net turnover of the last closed year.
