The Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) continues to implement various activities to promote business start-ups and development. In 2025, for the 17th time in a row, aspiring entrepreneurs in Latvia are invited to participate in the "Ideju kauss" (Idea Cup) competition. In this competition, participants will acquire the skills necessary to start a business, compete for the financial capital needed to implement their business ideas, and realize their business ideas. The competition takes place in several rounds.

The total prize fund is EUR 40,000, with first place receiving EUR 10,000. This year, special prizes from Swedbank, Helve, and Labs of Latvia are also included.

The LIAA is organizing the "Ideju kauss" competition as part of the Innovative Business Development Program for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), which is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
